Dec 1-7

Christmas time let's goooo! I have to admit this past week wasn't the most productive for me. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I'm going to decorate my tree and also what gifts to get for my husband. Bows are so in right now and so I had to put some cute gingham bows on my baby tree. Even though I spent a good amount of time on my phone, I got all my homework done. My procrastination flaw goes away 2 hours before the assignment is due and I become a schoolwork machine. This is good because I can crank out the homework but also bad because I could have spent less time on social media and completed the assignment earlier without the stress.

Nov 24-30

Thanksgiving time!! As I reflect on my media use this week I am very proud to say that I was barely on my phone! I don't usually watch TV so that is never an issue. My parents came to town and we did a lot of shopping in preparation for Thanksgiving and I had a lot of fun spending quality time with them. All in all, I am proud I can easily take a break from my phone and media. I'm starting to feel like it's less consuming and I have better control over it!

Nov 17 - 23

Finding inspiration online is a blessing and a curse. I learn so much about something and then to do it, I need supplies. I found the cutest nail tech on Instagram and she had a drill bit that she recommended and I had to buy it. And it turned out to be the best purchase of my life haha. I've talked about this before but I just love when social media is informative and educational. I also spent a good amount of time watching reels about parenting. I save them to a specific folder and hope to use what I learn to better my kids. So mostly goods this week about my media use.

Nov 10-16

This week was a lot better in the TV category. My husband and I usually watch New Girl but in an effort to cut down on some TV time, we bought a board game! We have been playing Splendor almost every night and it has been so fun! I was more conscious about my screen time this week and spent more time reading scriptures, cooking, and doing house chores.

Nov 3-9

This week my media use was focused on learning a new skill, eyelashes! My aunt does lashes and she was going to teach me! I spent a lot of time online learning tips and tricks, all to just change my mind after getting mine done. My social media use is still pretty high and I am trying to be more conscious about that. I hope next week I'll be able to manage that better

Oct 27-Nov 2

My media use consisted of editing pictures on my phone for my little photography side gig. I spent way too long going through the pictures and making sure they were perfect. This side gig is not my favorite because of how hard it is to get the lighting perfect. This media got in the way of classes because I had a deadline to return the pictures to my client. I spent class time editing pictures and not focusing in class. This isn't great. After all, I needed to pay attention because my grades were lacking in some of my classes. I also spent a lot of time on Instagram reels looking at nail videos. That is the side gig that I like more. But I feel that it consumes my life sometimes. Anyways, next week will hopefully be better! I'm not too mad at the results of this week but I know I can do better.

Oct 20-26

I would label this week as my Facebook marketplace week. I spent a lot of time on Marketplace looking for a couch for my friend. This was fun for me because I love shopping and getting a good deal. I don't spend much time watching TV but its the social media that ropes me in. All in all, this week wasn't terrible but I could have done better.
