This week was a lot better in the TV category. My husband and I usually watch New Girl but in an effort to cut down on some TV time, we bought a board game! We have been playing Splendor almost every night and it has been so fun! I was more conscious about my screen time this week and spent more time reading scriptures, cooking, and doing house chores.
This is a great shift in your media habits! It's awesome that you and your husband found a fun way to spend time together without relying on TV, like with the board game Splendor. Being more intentional about your screen time and using it to focus on other meaningful activities like scripture reading, cooking, and chores is such a productive change. It's a great example of how we can balance media with other aspects of our lives for a healthier, more fulfilling routine!
ReplyDeleteSplendor is so fun!! It's one of my husband's favorites, so we play it pretty often too! We've also been considering cutting down our tv time to spend more intentional time together. I think things like board games can be a great way to engage and connect with each other:)
ReplyDeleteI love New Girl! I have never tried that board game, but that is a really smart idea that I want to try. Maybe I'll go to the thrift store and see if I can thrift some. We usually play games with friends, but never alone together. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteSplendor is a delightful game! I have had similar experiences, where I will intentionally play a board game with family members instead of watching a movie. It is delightful to see how people's personalities come out during board games. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteI think it's great you're trying to do more variety of activities together. I've noticed that when I take time to do intentional activities with my loved ones, it feels much more fulfilling then watching multiple TV episodes.
